Get Mold Out of Your Clothing

Whenever you have a mold problem, you might think it is contained in the room or on the surface that it is found on. This is not true, considering mold can spread onto other surfaces. However, it doesn’t have to be just wood, brick, or sheetrock.

Mold can also get into clothing, garments, and draperies. If you find mold in these things, it can be pretty easy to get out. However, you have to get it out pretty quickly before it spreads to other surfaces or other clothing. While mold can get into your clothes from surfaces in your home, it can start in your clothing, too. Damage Control 911 has a few tips on how to prevent this.

If you find mold in your clothes, you shouldn’t panic. It can be removed from any surface and any piece of cloth, so don’t throw them out. If you wash these garments or curtains in special detergents or mixes, you will find that they kill the mold pretty quickly.

There are regular mixtures like vinegar and baking soda, but you may have to pass them through the wash multiple times. Bleach can kill mold pretty easily, as well as any detergents that are mixed with borax or other mold killers that the manufacturers produce.
